Chandigarh: The Government of India has empanelled 12 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers for appointment at the Joint Secretary level or equivalent positions in various central ministries.
According to an official notification issued on April 8, the list includes officers from multiple state cadres, marking a significant step toward senior-level postings in the central administration.
Among those selected, two senior officers from the Punjab cadre have been included, bringing recognition to the state’s administrative services.
The officers are Gauri Parashar Joshi and Sumit Kumar Jangral, both from the 2009 batch. Their empanelment opens the door for key leadership roles in various departments under the Government of India.
The list features six IAS officers from the 2009 batch, including A. Muthu Kumar (Jharkhand), Gauri Parashar Joshi (Punjab), N. Venkatesh (Tamil Nadu), Priyanka Das (Madhya Pradesh), Rathod Sandeep Revaji (Tripura), and Rohan Chand Thakur (Himachal Pradesh).
Additionally, officers such as S. Tejaswi Nayak (Madhya Pradesh) and Sumit Kumar Jangral (Punjab) have also been empanelled, reflecting a diverse representation across states.
Empanelment at the Joint Secretary level is a crucial milestone in an IAS officer’s career, as it enables them to be considered for top administrative positions in the central government, contributing to policy-making and national governance.
