Shimla Police Bust Drug Racket, Two Arrested with Heroin

Shimla Police Arrest 2 with Heroin in Drug Crackdown

Shimla: Continuing its crackdown against narcotics, Shimla Police achieved another success by busting a drug racket and arresting two individuals with heroin.

On April 7, 2026, the Special Cell team of Shimla Police was on patrol in the Krishna Nagar area when they received reliable intelligence that two individuals were allegedly selling heroin (commonly known as “chitta”) from their residence in Sikh Line, Krishna Nagar.

Acting on the tip-off, the police team conducted a raid in the presence of an independent witness. During the search, 9.32 grams of heroin were recovered from the room of the accused.

The accused have been identified as Saurabh Gharu (36) and Lav Gharu (32), both sons of Late Prem Chand.

In this connection, an FIR (No. 33/26) has been registered under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Sadar Police Station, Shimla, dated April 8, 2026.

Both accused have been arrested and produced before the court, which has granted three days of police remand for further investigation.

Shimla Police reiterated that its campaign against drug trafficking will continue and urged citizens to report any information related to illegal drug activities.
