The Health Department, under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Satinderjit Singh Bajaj, launched a district-level awareness campaign on the occasion of World Health Day at the Civil Surgeon Office in Amritsar.
Sharing information about the initiative, Dr. Bajaj stated that World Health Day is observed every year on April 7 under the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO). He added that this year’s theme, “Let us begin a healthy life together based on scientific evidence,” is being promoted across all health institutions in the district through continuous awareness activities.
He emphasized that in today’s fast-paced lifestyle, it is extremely important for individuals to take time for their own health. People should adopt healthy habits such as practicing yoga, regular exercise, consuming nutritious food, undergoing routine health checkups, and following scientifically proven health practices.
On this occasion, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Neelam Bhagat, District Health Officer Dr. Jaspal Singh, Assistant Commissioner Food Rajinder Pal Singh, District MEIO Amardeep Singh, District Epidemiologist Dr. Harjot Kaur, DPM Sukhjinder Singh, Ajitpal Singh, Gurdev Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Kamaldeep Bhalla, Balwinder Singh, and Gurkiren Singh were present.
The campaign aims to spread awareness among citizens about preventive healthcare and encourage a healthier and more informed lifestyle across the district.
