Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul-Spiti, Kiran Bhadana, has issued an official notification announcing ward-wise reservation for the posts of District Council (Zila Parishad) members in view of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Institutions General Elections 2026.
According to the notification, the reservation has been finalized under the provisions of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (as amended) and the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Election) Amendment Rules, 2026, in accordance with guidelines issued by the state government.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the reservation for all Zila Parishad wards in the district has been determined as per rules to ensure free, fair, and smooth conduct of the Panchayati Raj elections in 2026.
As per the notification, the ward-wise reservation for Zila Parishad Lahaul-Spiti has been fixed as follows:
- Udaipur – Scheduled Tribe (Women)
- Triloknath – Scheduled Tribe
- Jahalma – Scheduled Tribe (Women)
- Warpa – Scheduled Tribe
- Keylong – Unreserved
- Sissu – Scheduled Caste (Women)
- Kolong – Scheduled Tribe
- Losar – Scheduled Tribe (Women)
- Kaza – Scheduled Tribe (Women)
- Sagnam – Scheduled Tribe
The administration clarified that the reservation arrangement will remain applicable for the Panchayati Raj Institutions General Elections 2026 and the election process will be conducted accordingly.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to all concerned officials and citizens to extend full cooperation to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the election process.
