A shocking murder incident has surfaced from the Batala Road area of Amritsar, where a 40-year-old auto driver was brutally killed by unidentified assailants. The deceased has been identified as Kamal Kishore Saini, a resident of Abhimanyu Colony.
According to the victim’s brother, Vijay Kumar Saini, Kamal Kishore had not returned home since last night. Despite repeated phone calls by family members, there was no response from him, raising concern among relatives.
On Sunday morning, a passerby informed the family that Kamal’s auto-rickshaw was found parked in Ajit Nagar. When family members reached the spot, they discovered his blood-soaked body lying behind the vehicle.
Family members reported that the victim had deep head injuries, and blood-stained bricks were found near the body. It is suspected that unidentified attackers murdered him by repeatedly hitting his head with bricks.
Local residents stated that the crime occurred in a vacant plot known for illegal activities. They claimed that at least four bodies had been recovered from the same location last year. Residents also alleged that drug addicts frequently gather in the area and incidents of theft have increased significantly, with several laborers reportedly losing their mobile phones in repeated theft cases.
Residents further questioned the role of the police administration, alleging a lack of fear of law enforcement in the locality. When contacted, police officials said the matter is under investigation and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem examination. Authorities are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused.
