Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday virtually interacted with 35 “Children of the State” from Chamba district, who are currently on an educational tour to Daman and Diu. The interaction was conducted from Shimla, where the Chief Minister spoke with the children about their travel experiences and the facilities being provided during the study visit.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister gathered detailed feedback from the children regarding their journey and learning experiences. The students enthusiastically shared that travelling by air for the first time was a memorable and special experience for them. They said visiting new places and gaining exposure beyond their hometowns was bringing positive changes to their lives.
Expressing gratitude, the children thanked the Chief Minister for providing them with the opportunity, saying, “Thank you CM Sir for giving us this golden opportunity.”
Speaking on the occasion, Sukhu said that the Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana was launched specifically for the welfare of orphaned and destitute children, emphasizing that they have equal rights over the state’s resources. He added that under the scheme, the government provides support for education, coaching, marriage assistance, and financial aid to help children become self-reliant.
The participating children belong to child care institutions located in Saho, Pangi, Chamba, and Chilli (Tissa) areas of Chamba district. The group includes 24 girls and 11 boys.
The educational tour, which began on March 31, 2026, will continue until April 7, 2026. The children first stayed in Delhi before travelling by air via Surat to Daman, where they are gaining educational exposure along with new cultural experiences.
