Work Begins to Raise Hanging Power Lines in East Assembly Constituency to Prevent Accidents

Project Launched to Fix Hanging Power Lines in Amritsar

Work has officially begun to raise dangerously hanging electricity wires in the East Assembly constituency, a long-pending demand of local residents aimed at preventing accidents and improving public safety.

MLA Jeevanjot Kaur inaugurated the ₹2.5 crore project in Village Valla, which falls under Ward No. 18. Following the launch, similar work will continue in Verka and other nearby areas.

According to Media Incharge Yashpal Sharma, residents had been raising concerns for a long time about tangled and low-hanging electricity wires that posed serious risks to public safety. Locals feared that accidents could occur at any time due to the hazardous condition of the power lines.

Residents expressed gratitude to the MLA for addressing the issue and initiating corrective action.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur said that resolving public problems is the responsibility of both elected representatives and the Aam Aadmi Party government. She emphasized that ensuring citizen safety remains a top priority.

Among those present during the inauguration were PA Maninder Singh, Advocate Harpal Nijjar, and Youth Wing President Manmohan Singh.

The project is expected to significantly reduce accident risks and improve electrical infrastructure across the constituency.
