Development works continue at a steady pace in the Amritsar East Assembly constituency under the leadership of MLA Jeevanjot Kaur. Taking another step forward, the MLA inaugurated a major infrastructure project worth ₹2.5 crore under the Rangla Punjab Mission in Ward No. 18 (Verka).
The project aims to raise low-lying and hazardous electricity wires, which have long posed safety risks to residents. The work has officially commenced from Village Valla and is expected to provide permanent relief from hanging power lines while significantly reducing the risk of accidents in the area.
Speaking at the launch, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur stated that low-hanging high-voltage power lines had frequently caused safety concerns and accidents. Residents had been demanding a permanent solution for a long time, and the issue was taken up with the Punjab government to ensure corrective action.
She added that the state government has approved an expenditure of ₹2.5 crore to elevate the electricity wires and eliminate the danger permanently. The MLA further assured that the tangled network of overhead wires across the constituency would soon be systematically cleared.
Jeevanjot Kaur described the Amritsar East constituency as her extended family and reaffirmed her commitment to improving public safety and civic facilities. She also announced that more development projects would be undertaken in the constituency under the Rangla Punjab Mission.
Residents of Ward No. 18 (Verka) expressed gratitude to MLA Jeevanjot Kaur and the Punjab government for addressing the long-standing issue and improving public safety infrastructure.
