In a key organizational change, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has removed senior leader Raghav Chadha from the post of Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha. The party has named Member of Parliament Ashok Mittal as the new Deputy Leader in the Upper House.
AAP formally communicated the decision to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat through an official letter, confirming the leadership transition within its parliamentary team.
Along with the change in position, the party also informed the Secretariat that Raghav Chadha should not be allocated speaking time during Rajya Sabha proceedings going forward.
The move comes despite Chadha’s active participation in Parliament, where he had repeatedly raised issues concerning public welfare. He had recently highlighted matters affecting ordinary citizens, including the pricing of tea at airports and concerns related to delivery workers.
The party has not released any official explanation regarding the reasons behind the decision. Political analysts believe the step may be part of an internal restructuring or strategic adjustment within AAP’s parliamentary leadership.
The development has drawn attention in political circles, as Chadha had been one of the prominent parliamentary voices representing the party in the Rajya Sabha
