Central Assembly constituency MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated the construction of a new tubewell in Kishan Kot area of Ward No. 67, aiming to strengthen water supply ahead of the summer season.
Addressing residents during the inauguration, Dr. Gupta stated that the Central Assembly constituency administration is committed to ensuring that people do not face water shortages during the upcoming summer months. He announced that the newly constructed tubewell is expected to become operational within the next 15 days.
The MLA highlighted that nearly 52 new tubewells have already been installed across different areas of the constituency over the past four years to improve water availability. He further revealed that five additional tubewells will soon be installed in areas currently facing water scarcity.
Reaffirming his commitment to public welfare, Dr. Gupta emphasized that providing basic civic amenities to residents remains a top priority.
Later, the MLA held a review meeting with Municipal Corporation officials, including the Supervising Engineer, Executive Engineer, SDO, and Junior Engineer. He instructed officials to ensure that all development projects in the constituency are completed within stipulated timelines, warning that negligence in development works would not be tolerated.
Officials were also directed to identify areas lacking development, prepare project estimates, and issue tenders promptly to accelerate pending works.
In addition, Dr. Gupta inspected several parks within the constituency along with officials from the horticulture department. He directed authorities to maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of all parks to ensure better public facilities. Special attention was also sought for outdoor gyms operating within park premises.
Among those present at the event were Tarunbir Kandy, son of Deputy Mayor Anita Rani, constituency organization in-charge Harpreet Singh Ahluwalia, Bittu Dodhi, Vardhan Bhagat, Municipal Corporation officials, and local residents.
