The Journalist Association (Registered Punjab), under the guidance of state president Joginder Angurala, organized a special felicitation ceremony to honour senior journalist and Target Post Chief Editor Azad Sharma during his visit from Australia.
The event was held at Ranjit Avenue under the leadership of unit patron and state vice-president Gurjinder Mahal. Azad Sharma, known for his fearless and unbiased journalism, has previously served in several key roles at Batala Press Club and journalists’ unions. In recent years, he has expanded his journalistic work internationally through Target Post in Australia, gaining recognition among global media professionals.
Senior journalist Sunil Prabhakar, widely known for his revolutionary journalism and experience as chief editor and media in-charge at various newspapers, also attended the event. Vijay Prabhakar was also present as part of the visiting delegation.
The guests were welcomed with floral bouquets by Amritsar unit president Malkit Singh Brar, general secretary Kulbir Singh, journalist leader Simran Santosh Rajput, along with Rajiv Kumar and unit chairman Dwarka Nath Rana.
During the gathering, Joginder Angurala and Azad Sharma shared their professional experiences and insights into journalism. The state president also issued important guidelines regarding the upcoming Press Club elections in Amritsar, urging members to play an active and responsible role.
Senior journalist Sunil Prabhakar also shared valuable lessons and experiences from his journalistic career. The ceremony concluded with the guests being honoured with traditional siropas, flower garlands, and a commemorative portrait of Bhagat Singh as a mark of respect.
