Shah Rukh Khan’s highly anticipated film “King”, directed by Siddharth Anand, has faced a major production setback after its planned Dubai shooting schedule was cancelled due to the ongoing US-Iran conflict.
The action thriller, currently under production, was scheduled to film an important sequence in Dubai starting April 9. The schedule included desert scenes featuring key cast members Anil Kapoor and Suhana Khan, who play significant roles in the film.
Safety Concerns Lead to Schedule Cancellation
According to media reports, the production team had already secured all required permissions to shoot in Dubai. However, rising geopolitical tensions in the region prompted the makers to reconsider their plans.
A source revealed that the decision was taken to avoid any potential risk to the cast and crew amid the evolving situation. The team chose safety over schedule continuity, leading to the cancellation of the overseas shoot.
Mumbai Studio Set to Replace Dubai Location
To prevent delays in filming, the makers have reportedly decided to recreate the Dubai setting inside a specially constructed studio in Vile Parle, Mumbai. The production team is said to be investing heavily to match the large-scale vision planned by director Siddharth Anand.
The recreated set will allow better control over action choreography, lighting, and technical execution. Reports suggest the sequence will begin with a high-speed chase followed by an intense combat scene, maintaining the film’s action-packed narrative.
High Expectations Around ‘King’
King marks another major collaboration involving Shah Rukh Khan in a high-octane action role. With a strong supporting cast and Siddharth Anand’s grand cinematic style, the film has already generated massive buzz among fans and industry insiders.
Despite the temporary setback, production is expected to continue smoothly in Mumbai, ensuring that the film stays on track for its planned release timeline.
