SGPC Invites Passport Applications for Sikh Jatha to Pakistan on Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Death Anniversary

SGPC Seeks Passports for Pakistan Sikh Jatha 2026

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has invited passport applications from Sikh devotees wishing to join a religious delegation traveling to Pakistan to mark the death anniversary of Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Sharing the details, SGPC Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahalwa said that Sikh devotees have long prayed for opportunities to visit historic gurdwaras that were separated during the Partition. As per government protocol, four Sikh jathas travel to Pakistan every year, and the third annual delegation is organized on the occasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s death anniversary.

He informed that the jatha will depart from Amritsar on June 21, 2026.

Religious Itinerary in Pakistan

According to the scheduled program, the delegation will visit several historic Sikh shrines:

  • June 21: Arrival at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib
  • June 22: Visit to Gurdwara Sacha Sauda
  • June 23: Visit to Gurdwara Panja Sahib
  • June 25: Visit to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib
  • June 27: Visit to Gurdwara Rori Sahib and arrival at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in the evening

The main religious ceremony marking Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s death anniversary will be held in Lahore on June 29, after which the delegation will return to India on June 30, 2026.

Pilgrim Quota and Application Process

Out of the total quota of 500 pilgrims, SGPC has been allotted 300 seats. Devotees interested in joining the religious journey must submit their passports at the SGPC office by March 31, 2026.

Applicants are required to submit:

  • Passport copy
  • Aadhaar card copy
  • Verification from their local constituency representative

These documents are necessary to complete visa formalities and security clearance on time.

The SGPC has appealed to the global Sikh community to submit applications promptly and take part in this significant religious pilgrimage.
