Uttar Pradesh Gets New 700 km Greenfield Expressway to Boost Growth

UP Approves 700 km Greenfield Expressway Project

Uttar Pradesh, the state with the highest number of expressways in India, is set to get another major greenfield expressway that promises to transform the connectivity and economic prospects of several villages. The 700-kilometer-long expressway will connect the eastern and western regions, providing direct access from Gorakhpur to Shamli.

Preparations for the greenfield expressway have accelerated, with land acquisition underway in 68 villages across Bareilly district. The expressway will pass through 22 districts, significantly strengthening regional connectivity and creating new employment opportunities.

In Bareilly, the expressway will run through the Nawabganj and Baheri tehsils, benefiting a total of 68 villages—34 in each tehsil. Some of the key villages in Baheri tehsil include Kanakpuri, Bhota, Pandri, Parewa, Bhakwa, Madhukarpur, Mawai Kala, Kanchanpur, Pandera, Sissai, Sharifnagar, Shahpur, Itora, Chandpur Chubkia, Gopalpur, Gularia Muhammad Hussain, Karnpur, Mohanpur, Rampura, Mangadpur, Bakernand, Bhukarpur, Bakrand, and Jamunia. Key villages in Nawabganj tehsil include Inayatpur, Dhaureda, Gajraula, Satuiya Khurd, Jignia, Bhagwantpur, Nawadia Kasiyav, Khatta, Abherajpur, Khatua, Barkhan, Adhkta Ravani Begum, Dhakkia Varkali Sahib, Tigri, Dandiya Safdar Ali, Sithora, Nawadia Motiram, Nakatipur, Bhavantpur, Mudia Malukpur, Jarpa Mohanpur, Babura Babri, Nawada Ikramulla, Dhanor Jagir, Hathi, Gela Tanda, Tiyad Jagir, Tumriya, Lavkhera Badri Prasad, and Mudia Teli.

The project is being monitored by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). In Bareilly, land acquisition is being overseen by Special Land Acquisition Officer Desh Deepak Singh. The preliminary survey has been completed, and the formal acquisition process is expected to progress soon.

Once completed, this expressway will not only improve transportation but also catalyze regional development and generate new employment opportunities, benefiting thousands of residents along its route.
