Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has issued a public notice announcing the transition from a two-month billing cycle to a monthly electricity billing system in accordance with JERC guidelines. This move is aimed at providing consumers with greater clarity, transparency, and convenience in electricity payments.
Under the new system, each bill will clearly show the billing period (from–to date), issue date, and due date for payment, eliminating confusion associated with the previous bi-monthly bills. For instance, a bill dated March 30, 2026, will now reflect February 2026 electricity usage, while the January 2026 usage was billed in February.
CPDL has also ensured that consumers have ample time to make payments, with multiple channels available for assistance. Consumers can pay bills, obtain duplicate copies, or raise complaints through CPDL’s digital platforms, call centers, and WhatsApp services.
Key Features of Monthly Billing:
- Transparent Billing Cycle: Each bill shows exact usage and dates.
- Digital Payment Options: Pay bills via mobile or online portals.
- Duplicate Bill Support: Available through CPDL call center (+91 92402 16666) or WhatsApp.
- Consumer Assistance: Support for queries, bill copies, or complaints.
This monthly billing system aims to provide better visibility for consumers, reduce ambiguity, and simplify payment and record-keeping processes.
