Under the directions of Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar (IPS), the Amritsar Commissionerate Police carried out extensive security checks and patrol operations across sensitive areas of the city to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
On March 24, 2026, local police teams along with Special Operations Group (SOG) commandos conducted intensified patrolling in various parts of the city. Special naka (checkpoint) operations were set up in both inner-city and outer areas, where vehicles were thoroughly inspected.
Police personnel also questioned individuals found moving suspiciously without valid reasons. In addition, search operations were conducted at major public locations including the bus stand, railway station, and areas surrounding religious places to prevent any unlawful activity.
The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has appealed to the public to immediately inform authorities if any suspicious person or illegal activity is noticed in their locality. Officials assured that the identity of informants will be kept completely confidential.
Police authorities reiterated that the Amritsar Police remains alert and committed to safeguarding citizens and maintaining security round the clock.
