Shri Ram Ashram Public School Students Visit ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Educational Tour

Students Visit ISRO VSSC During Kerala Educational Tour

Students of Shri Ram Ashram Public School recently participated in an educational tour to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, gaining first-hand exposure to India’s space research achievements through a visit to the prestigious Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.

The school has been organizing annual educational visits to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) since 2017, offering students a rare opportunity to witness live satellite launch activities and understand the country’s advancements in space science.

The tour was specially arranged for students from Classes VI to X, with 20 students participating in the knowledge-enriching journey. They were accompanied and guided throughout the trip by dedicated teachers Ms. Garima Sharma and Ms. Alka Rani.

During the visit, students explored advanced scientific equipment and gained direct insights into India’s space research programs. One of the major highlights of the tour was observing exciting moments related to satellite launch operations at the space centre.

Students also learned about the contributions of India’s renowned scientists and received detailed information about major launch vehicles developed by Indian scientists, including the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV), and Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV).

The visit included a tour of the Space Museum, where students explored the lives and achievements of prominent Indian scientists and understood the evolution of the country’s space missions. Such experiential learning opportunities help inspire young minds, encourage curiosity, and motivate students to pursue careers in science and innovation.

Apart from scientific learning, students also visited several popular tourist destinations, including Kovalam Beach along the Arabian Sea, mangrove forests, Horse Palace, Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Triveni Sangam, the sacred Padmanabhaswamy Temple, and Suchindram Temple.

School Chairman Balveer Bajaj appreciated the initiative, stating that such educational tours provide invaluable real-world experiences and broaden students’ perspectives beyond classroom learning.

Principal Dr Vinodita Sankhyan emphasized that the institution continuously strives to provide meaningful learning experiences. She added that visits to prestigious institutions inspire students, expand their thinking abilities, and significantly contribute to intellectual development, helping them face future challenges with confidence.
