Shimla Police Nab Two in Tarapur Road Attempted Robbery

On March 20, 2026, police in Shimla began investigating a complaint filed by Aryan Chauhan, a resident of Nav Vihar, alleging that three suspects tried to rob him and demand ransom near Tarapur Road. The suspects reportedly exited a vehicle with registration number HP 58A-1965 during the incident.

On March 23, 2026, two suspects were arrested: Charanjit Singh, 48, son of Preetam Singh, resident of Krodi Mal Building, Main Bazaar, Sanjauli, and Tashi Negi, 45, son of late Sunder Singh, resident of VPO Narkanda, Tehsil Kumarsain.

Police stated that the accused had attempted to conceal their identity by tampering with the vehicle’s identifiers. The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken as the case progresses.
