Himachal Budget 2026-27 Health, Jobs & Digital Reforms

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presented the Himachal Pradesh Budget for the financial year 2026-27 during the budget session of the state assembly on March 23, 2026. The budget was hailed as visionary, empowering, and historic by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil and Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, who called it a strong foundation for Himachal’s bright future.

Despite reductions in revenue deficit grants from the central government, ministers said CM Sukhu set an exemplary standard of commitment to public welfare, inclusive development, and administrative efficiency.

Dr. Shandil highlighted historic provisions for the health sector, including ₹3,000 crore allocated for infrastructure modernization, recruitment of thousands of staff, and increased stipends for senior resident specialists and super-specialists.

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi praised the complete digital transformation of the Revenue Department, simplification of land record and mutation processes, and an increase in allowances for revenue watchmen to ₹6,800, marking these as key achievements of the budget.

Ministers emphasized youth empowerment and employment generation through strategic recruitment in police, health, and education sectors, along with the creation of 4 lakh person-days of employment under state employment programs.

The budget reflects the government’s focus on building a modern, inclusive, and economically strong Himachal Pradesh, prioritizing health, jobs, and digital governance.
