Mukesh Agnihotri Launches Irrigation Projects in Nalagarh

Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced accelerated development works in the Nalagarh Assembly constituency, stating that newly launched projects will be completed within a fixed timeline.

Addressing a public gathering after laying the foundation stone for 11 tube well-based irrigation schemes worth ₹13.36 crore at Malpur in Gram Panchayat Kashmirpur, Agnihotri emphasized the state government’s commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and irrigation facilities.

Irrigation Projects to Benefit Multiple Villages

The irrigation schemes will benefit 11 villages across nine gram panchayats, including Gurdaspura, Malpur, Dugri, Sallewal, Mastanpura, Ratyor, Sauri Gujjran, Nangal Dhakka, Nangal Kuhal-1, Nangal Kuhal-2, and Bhatoli. The projects aim to improve agricultural productivity and ensure adequate water supply for farmers.

Transport Office Complex Foundation Laid

Earlier in the day, the Deputy CM also laid the foundation stone for the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) office and residential complex at Nalagarh. The project will be developed at a cost of ₹11.24 crore, enhancing administrative infrastructure in the region.

Focus on Clean Drinking Water

Agnihotri stated that access to clean water is a fundamental right and highlighted ongoing government efforts to provide safe drinking water to every household. Under the Jal Shakti Division Nalagarh, around 120 drinking water schemes are currently operational, supplying clean water to 758 habitations.

Additionally, 170 irrigation schemes are being implemented under the division to strengthen water resources and support agriculture.

Heritage Cafe Inaugurated

The Deputy CM also inaugurated a newly renovated Heritage Café at Nalagarh Heritage Park, developed by the Nalagarh Heritage Society to promote tourism and local heritage.

Public Representatives Present

Nalagarh MLA Hardeep Singh Bawa shared details of ongoing development works and highlighted local issues, reaffirming efforts to address public concerns. Several public representatives, senior officials, and a large number of local residents attended the event.

The initiatives reflect the state government’s focus on improving irrigation, drinking water supply, and infrastructure development to boost rural growth in Himachal Pradesh.
