Prime Minister Modi Holds Meeting with Top Leaders After Winter Session of Lok Sabha Ends

Following the conclusion of the Winter Session of Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla convened a customary meeting with leaders and Members of Parliament in his chamber at Parliament House. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several other senior MPs attended the interaction, which also included an informal tea gathering.

The session, which had witnessed heated debates, protests and frequent walkouts, ended on a noticeably lighter note as leaders from the treasury benches and the Opposition exchanged smiles and brief conversations over tea. Visuals from the meeting showed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra seated next to Rajnath Singh, with Modi and Birla engaging with MPs across party lines, signaling a rare moment of camaraderie after a politically charged sitting.

According to parliamentary officials, such post-session interactions are intended to ease tensions, review the conduct of the House and build consensus for upcoming legislative business. In the backdrop of intense confrontation during the Winter Session, this outreach is being read as an effort to keep channels of communication open between the government and the Opposition ahead of the next phase of parliamentary proceedings.
