Continuous heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district has led to the closure of Manikaran Road after the Jachhni Nallah witnessed a sharp rise in water flow, severely affecting transportation in the region.
According to local authorities, the intense water current in the overflowing nallah blocked the roadway, making vehicle movement unsafe. As a result, traffic on the Manikaran route has been completely suspended.
The road closure has disrupted daily life, affecting access to schools, offices, and local markets. Residents in nearby areas are facing significant inconvenience due to restricted movement.
The district administration has initiated necessary measures for relief and restoration work. Officials have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and remain in safe locations until conditions improve.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast continued rainfall in the district over the next few days, prompting authorities to advise residents to stay alert and follow safety guidelines.
