Former MLA Sunil Dutti Leads Protest Against Mann Government Over Women Pension Promise

Former MLA Sunil Dutti on Thursday led a protest against the Punjab government, accusing the administration of failing to fulfill its promises made to women during the elections.

Addressing protesters, Dutti alleged that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 for women, but the promise remains largely unfulfilled even after four years in power.

He stated that the people of Punjab had trusted the Aam Aadmi Party’s vision of building a “Rangla Punjab” and handed over power to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal expecting major reforms and change. However, according to Dutti, citizens now feel disappointed and betrayed by the government’s performance.

The Congress leader further claimed that voters would give a strong response to the AAP government in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.

Several Congress leaders and party workers were present during the protest, including district president Saurav Madan Mithu, Mamta Dutta, Sonu Dutti, Karamjit Singh, Hari Dev Sharma, and others, who extended support to the demonstration.

The protest highlights growing political tensions in Punjab as opposition parties continue to question the state government over welfare schemes and election promises.
