15 Begging Children Rescued from Zirakpur Streets in District Child Rights Commission Crackdown

Zirakpur: Today, a team from the Mohali District Child Rights Commission launched a campaign across various areas of Zirakpur, rescuing 15 minor children found begging on the streets. These children were approaching vehicles at traffic signals and busy roads to solicit alms, putting not only their lives in grave danger but also causing significant inconvenience to pedestrians and drivers.

Despite repeated strict actions by the administration in the past, the problem of child beggars continues to resurface. All rescued children have been safely relocated, with processes initiated for their identification and rehabilitation.

Notably, newspapers had previously highlighted this issue through reports to draw administrative attention. The administration has appealed to the public not to give alms to children on streets and to immediately inform relevant departments about such cases, ensuring a secure future for the children.
