Dhuri (Punjab): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday dedicated a major healthcare project to the people of Dhuri, inaugurating a 50-bed Sub-Divisional Hospital along with a 30-bed Mother and Child Care Block.
The new healthcare facility is expected to significantly improve medical services not only for residents of Dhuri city but also for people living in nearly 70 surrounding villages, ensuring easier access to quality healthcare.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the project marks an important step toward strengthening Punjab’s healthcare system. He emphasized that the government’s primary objective is to provide modern and high-quality medical services closer to people’s homes so that patients do not have to travel long distances for treatment.
The hospital complex has been constructed at a cost of ₹21.65 crore and is spread across approximately 73,000 square feet. The facility includes Outpatient Department (OPD) services, indoor treatment wards, emergency care, and modern diagnostic facilities.
According to the Chief Minister, these services will play a crucial role in strengthening secondary-level healthcare infrastructure in the region and improving overall public health delivery.
The initiative forms part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to expand healthcare accessibility and upgrade medical infrastructure across Punjab.
