Court Acquits Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi Liquor Case; AAP Slams Centre

Kejriwal Acquitted in Delhi Liquor Policy Case

In a major political development, a court has acquitted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, senior leader Manish Sisodia, and others in the alleged Delhi liquor policy case. The verdict has triggered sharp political reactions across the country.

Following the court’s decision, Aman Arora, Punjab president of the Aam Aadmi Party, addressed a press conference on Friday and strongly criticized the Central Government.

Beginning his address, Arora stated, “Truth may be delayed, but it can never be defeated.” He described the verdict as not just a victory for the party but a triumph of truth and justice. Punjab ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Hardeep Singh Mundian were also present during the press conference.

Arora alleged that the narrative constructed by investigative agencies under the BJP-led Central Government had been rejected by the court. According to him, keeping a sitting Chief Minister in jail for nearly six months and detaining Manish Sisodia for almost two years was politically motivated. He claimed the actions were aimed at curbing the growing popularity of AAP and causing political damage.

The AAP leader further stated that the special court observed that no prima facie case was made out in the matter. He alleged that the prosecution’s arguments were based on assumptions and that the conspiracy theory could not be substantiated. Arora also pointed out that the court’s remarks on the investigation process have raised serious questions.

During the conference, he demanded a public apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He asserted that targeting political opponents through alleged false cases is harmful to democracy and that leaders rise through development and public service, not by suppressing rivals.

The verdict has added a new dimension to the political discourse, with reactions expected to intensify in the coming days.
