Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Assam from tomorrow. During the visit, he will inaugurate key infrastructure projects and participate in important commemorative and industrial events.

In Guwahati, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the New Terminal Building of Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport, a significant upgrade aimed at improving air connectivity and passenger capacity for Assam and the Northeast region. The new terminal is expected to bolster economic activity, tourism, and regional integration by providing modern facilities and smoother travel experiences.

On the final day of his tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit Swahid Smarak Kshetra in Boragaon, Guwahati, to pay homage to the martyrs of the historic Assam Movement. This gesture underscores the Centre’s recognition of the sacrifices made during the movement and its emotional and political importance for the people of Assam.

Later, the Prime Minister will perform Bhoomi Pujan for the Ammonia–Urea Project of Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Ltd. The project is poised to strengthen the fertilizer production capacity in the region, support the agricultural sector, and generate new employment opportunities, thereby contributing to the broader development of Assam and the surrounding areas.
