Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been granted bail in a ₹9 crore cheque bounce case after briefly surrendering at Tihar Jail. The development comes days after the Delhi High Court rejected his plea seeking additional time to clear pending dues in the financial dispute.
On February 5, the High Court dismissed Yadav’s application requesting more time to repay the outstanding amount in the cheque bounce case. Following the court’s order, the actor surrendered. However, on February 17, he was granted bail, and the court provided interim relief by staying his sentence until March 18.
Before surrendering, Rajpal Yadav had reportedly stated that he was facing financial hardship and dealing with the crisis alone. After being released on bail, the actor clarified his earlier emotional remarks in an interview. He said, “I cannot comment much on the matter right now, but I want to say that I am surrounded by money. Rajpal is a walking cheque book. I earn money, help others earn, and many families depend on me.”
His latest statement is being viewed in contrast to his earlier claims of financial distress.
The actor also reflected on his brief political stint, revealing that he stepped away from politics in 2019 to focus solely on serving his people. Following his release, Yadav chose not to dwell on the legal controversy and instead expressed gratitude to those who stood by him during the difficult period.
According to reports, several prominent figures from the Hindi film industry extended financial support to him. These reportedly include Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, David Dhawan, Sonu Sood, Guru Randhawa, and Mika Singh.
After securing bail, Rajpal Yadav has resumed work and begun shooting for his upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle, signaling a return to normalcy amid ongoing legal proceedings.
The case continues to attract attention, with the next hearing expected in the coming weeks.
