She stated that the television industry is comparatively cleaner, but circumstances can become challenging for those who want to move ahead without strong backing. According to her, in some instances, individuals are clearly told during the first meeting itself that auditions are not necessary. Instead, they are expected to stay “close” to a particular person under contractual obligations.
Akanksha further said that the absence of a “godfather” in the industry can make situations more difficult. She alleged that after signing contracts, certain expectations are communicated very openly. “It happened with me once or twice. That’s when I realized how openly such things take place, and it still continues,” she shared.
