Television actress Akanksha Chamola has once again grabbed headlines for her bold and candid statements. The wife of popular TV actor Gaurav Khanna, Akanksha is known for expressing her views fearlessly. In a recent interview, she spoke openly about the issue of casting couch in the entertainment industry and shared her personal experiences.
Akanksha recently appeared on a podcast where she discussed several industry-related topics. When asked about casting couch, she revealed that while the situation may not always reach an extreme level, “compromise” proposals are often made directly and upfront.
She stated that the television industry is comparatively cleaner, but circumstances can become challenging for those who want to move ahead without strong backing. According to her, in some instances, individuals are clearly told during the first meeting itself that auditions are not necessary. Instead, they are expected to stay “close” to a particular person under contractual obligations.
Akanksha further said that the absence of a “godfather” in the industry can make situations more difficult. She alleged that after signing contracts, certain expectations are communicated very openly. “It happened with me once or twice. That’s when I realized how openly such things take place, and it still continues,” she shared.
Recently, Akanksha Chamola’s web series Dil Dhokha and Desire was released, where her bold avatar has been widely discussed. During promotional interviews for the series, she addressed these bitter experiences from the industry, sparking fresh debate within the entertainment fraternity.
Her revelations have reignited conversations around professional ethics, power dynamics, and transparency in the television and digital entertainment space.
