Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized that trust is the most crucial factor in deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) at scale in India.
Speaking at the Rising Bharat Summit held in New Delhi, the minister highlighted the importance of taking the AI transition seriously and ensuring proactive measures at every level.
Trust Key to AI Adoption
Vaishnaw stated that without a strong trust framework, AI deployment cannot achieve its intended impact. He underlined that all actions related to AI development and implementation must be taken proactively to ensure responsible and effective adoption.
Focus on Talent Pipeline
The minister said the Government is placing significant emphasis on building a strong talent pipeline to support India’s AI ambitions. He stressed that both the Centre and State Governments must work collaboratively to prepare skilled professionals for the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
According to Vaishnaw, the Centre had already launched the Future Skills Programme nearly four years ago in partnership with the IT industry to equip youth with emerging technology skills, including AI.
Collaborative Effort Required
He added that while the central government is driving initiatives at the national level, state governments must also intensify their efforts to strengthen training infrastructure and digital capabilities.
The remarks come at a time when India is accelerating its push towards AI-led innovation across governance, industry, and public services.
