Barnala Students Win 8 Medals, Including Gold, at Thailand Karate Cup 2026 in Bangkok

Barnala Kids Win 8 Medals at Thailand Karate Cup

In a proud moment for Punjab, four young students from Barnala brought glory to India by winning eight medals, including one gold, at the prestigious Thailand Karate Cup 2026 held in Bangkok.

The international championship saw participation from 578 children representing 11 countries. Despite tough competition, the Barnala students delivered an outstanding performance, emerging among the top achievers.

Gold and Seven Other Medals

The four students — one girl and three boys studying in Classes 7 and 8 — collectively secured eight medals, including a gold medal. Their achievement has brought immense pride not only to Barnala but to the entire state of Punjab.

Journey from District to International Stage

Their journey to international success was built on consistent performance. The students first excelled at district-level competitions, then proved their talent at the state level, followed by national victories. Their triumph in Bangkok marks a historic milestone as they hoisted the Indian tricolour on an international platform.

Grand Welcome Back Home

Upon returning to Barnala, the young champions received a grand welcome at their school. School management, teachers, and fellow students honored them with flowers and applause. Emotional scenes unfolded as parents and coaches expressed tears of joy over the children’s remarkable success.

The students credited their achievement to their parents, coaches, and school administration, highlighting that continuous hard work, discipline, and proper guidance helped them reach this milestone.

Boost to Sports Culture in Punjab

The achievement aligns with the Punjab government’s sports promotion campaign, Punjab Government initiative “Khed Watan Punjab Diyan,” which encourages sports participation in schools. Both government and private school students are now making their mark at national and international levels.

The success of these four Barnala students stands as a shining example that with the right opportunities and guidance, Punjab’s youth can achieve global recognition.

This victory belongs not just to the medal winners but to the entire state of Punjab. At such a young age, their extraordinary achievement proves that dedication and perseverance can turn dreams into reality.
