National Science Day Celebrated at Govt College Sanjauli with Focus on Women in Science

National Science Day at GC Sanjauli

National Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm as a Science Festival at Government College Sanjauli. This year’s theme, “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat,” highlighted the vital role of women in advancing scientific research and national development.

The program was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Bharti Bhagra, along with Vice-Principal Prof. Bachan Singh and Dean of Sciences Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

Distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Yash Desh Dulta from Government College Theog and Dr. Shivani Kapret from Government College Solan, served as judges for the competitions. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Kirti Singha.

Various Science Competitions Held

As part of the celebrations, multiple competitions were organized, including:

  • Science Quiz
  • Science Model Making
  • Science Rangoli
  • PowerPoint Presentation

In the Science Quiz competition, Sneha Sharma, Nandini, and Puneet from B.Sc. Third Year secured first place. Abhinav Dogra, Anshul Negi, and Purnima Arya from B.Sc. First Year secured second place, while Arpit, Pankaj, and Aman from B.Sc. Second Year finished third.

In the Science Rangoli competition, Kusum Sharma won first prize, Nancy secured second place, and Meenakshi finished third.

In the Model Making competition, Anmol Sharma secured first position, Adarsh and Sumit came second, and Girish secured third place.

In the PowerPoint Presentation competition, Yashveer won first prize, Kashish secured second, and Kartik stood third.

Over 300 Students Participated

More than 300 students actively participated in the event. Principal Prof. Bharti Bhagra congratulated the Science Faculty, teachers, and students for successfully organizing the celebration.

Dr. Meenakshi Sharma appreciated the enthusiasm and outstanding performances of the participants, while Dr. Shweta Sharma presented the vote of thanks.

The event reinforced the importance of promoting scientific temperament and encouraging greater participation of women in science, aligning with the vision of a developed India.
