Haryana Secretariat Officer Dies by Suicide

A senior employee of the Haryana Secretariat allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the building in Chandigarh on Wednesday, triggering panic within the premises.

According to initial reports, the deceased has been identified as Ganesh Das Arora, who was posted as a Special Secretary in the Haryana Secretariat and was attached to the office of an IAS officer. He was reportedly just five months away from retirement.

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 12:24 PM when Arora allegedly jumped from the sixth floor of the Secretariat building. Before anyone could react, he climbed to the rooftop and leapt off. He sustained multiple serious injuries and died on the spot.

Security personnel immediately alerted authorities, and the Chandigarh Police took the body into custody. It was later sent to Sector 16 Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Sources within the Secretariat claimed that Arora had attempted a similar act nearly 15 days ago but was prevented by colleagues at the time. The reason behind the suicide is not yet known, and police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.

Further details are awaited as authorities continue their probe into the tragic case.
