Journalists Honoured at Shri Dasmesh Prachar Seva Trust Event in Ajnala

Journalists Felicitated at Ajnala Ceremony

Shri Dasmesh Prachar Seva Trust, Ajnala, organised a solemn and dignified ceremony to honour distinguished personalities for their remarkable contributions to society and journalism.

The event was held under the leadership of Baba Kulwant Singh, head of the trust, and witnessed the presence of prominent religious and social figures from the region. The primary objective of the programme was to encourage and recognise individuals who have guided society through truthful and fearless journalism.

Addressing the gathering, Baba Kulwant Singh stated that the media serves as the fourth pillar of democracy and journalists carry the responsibility of delivering truth to the public with fairness and integrity. He added that such initiatives strengthen positive thinking and social awareness in society.

Prominent Journalists Felicitated

During the ceremony, senior journalist and analyst Jasbir Singh Patti, who serves as President (Punjab) of the Chandigarh Punjab Journalist Association, was honoured for his outstanding role in journalism.

Additionally, journalist Shivraj Darupt associated with Dainik Bhaskar was recognised for his fearless reporting and in-depth analysis of social issues.

Expressing gratitude after receiving the honour, Jasbir Singh Patti said journalism is not merely about publishing news but about becoming the voice of the people. Shivraj Darupt also thanked the trust, stating that the recognition would inspire him to continue working with greater honesty and dedication.

The event concluded with a collective message emphasizing the vital role of media in upholding truth and justice. Among others present were representatives from social and farmers’ organisations, including members of Kisan Sangharsh Committee Punjab (Amritsar unit).

The ceremony reflected the continued importance of ethical journalism in strengthening democratic values and social responsibility.
