Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday accused rival parties — the Indian National Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal — of neglecting the punjab education sector during their tenure in power and focusing instead on promoting the families of their top leadership.
Taking a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mann alleged that the party was relying on leaders who had switched from other political outfits to strengthen its base in Punjab.
The Chief Minister made these remarks after laying the foundation stone of a government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Sardulgarh. He asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is committed to providing quality education and skill development opportunities to the youth of Punjab.
Highlighting his government’s achievements, Mann said that 118 Schools of Eminence have been established across the state to enhance academic standards. He also noted that teachers have been sent abroad for specialized training to improve classroom education.
In addition, he stated that 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened to offer free healthcare services, and over 90 percent of households in Punjab are receiving free electricity.
Mann emphasized that his government remains focused on strengthening public education and welfare initiatives aimed at empowering the youth and improving living standards in the state.
