Punjab Police Arrest Suspect, Neutralize Another in Border Police Killing

Punjab Police Acts in Gurdaspur Border Police Killing

Punjab Police has taken decisive action in connection with the brutal killing of two police personnel stationed near the India-Pakistan border. One suspect has been arrested, while another was killed in an encounter. The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Singh, and the arrested suspect is Dilawar Singh, a resident of Alinangal village.

According to Gurdaspur SSP Aditya An, the police acted swiftly following the murder of ASI Gurnam Singh and Home Guard Ashok Kumar, whose bodies were found on Sunday at a border outpost.

The incident occurred approximately 2 kilometers from the India-Pakistan border, in an area considered highly sensitive due to frequent drone-assisted smuggling of heroin and weapons. The police have confirmed that the encounter neutralized one of the culprits involved in the attack.

This operation demonstrates Punjab Police’s continued focus on maintaining border security and taking immediate action against individuals threatening law enforcement personnel in sensitive areas.
