A sensational firing incident took place in Delhi’s Kashmere Gate area late Tuesday night when unidentified assailants opened fire on a car carrying a lawyer associated with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. One person was injured in the attack.
According to Delhi Police, the incident occurred around 10:30 PM on February 24. Four rounds were reportedly fired at the vehicle, which was carrying five occupants at the time of the attack.
The firing took place near Hanuman Mandir in the Kashmere Gate area. Images from the scene show the rear windshield of the car shattered due to bullet impact.
Advocate Deepak Khatri, who claims to be part of Lawrence Bishnoi’s legal team, confirmed the incident while speaking to the media. He said, “The incident happened near Hanuman Mandir in Kashmere Gate. There were five of us in the car. By God’s grace, we survived.”
However, one of the occupants, identified as Sandeep, sustained injuries. He was reportedly hit by a bullet in the waist and has been shifted for medical treatment.
Police officials have launched an investigation to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the shooting. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined as part of the probe.
The incident has once again raised concerns over security linked to individuals associated with high-profile criminal cases in the national capital.
