Amritsar Co-Pilot Sabrajdeep Singh Killed in Jharkhand Air Ambulance Crash, 7 Dead

Amritsar Co-Pilot Dies in Jharkhand Plane Crash

A tragic aviation accident claimed the life of Amritsar-based co-pilot Sabrajdeep Singh in a deadly air ambulance crash in Jharkhand’s Chatra district. All seven people onboard the aircraft were killed in the incident.

Sabrajdeep Singh, a resident of Gobind Nagar on Sultanwind Road in Amritsar, had over 300 hours of flying experience. He was serving as co-pilot on the ill-fated Redbird Beechcraft King Air B90L air ambulance flight.

The aircraft took off from Ranchi at 7:11 PM on Monday, carrying a critically injured patient to Delhi for advanced treatment. However, approximately 20 minutes after takeoff, contact with the aircraft was lost at around 7:34 PM. Shortly thereafter, the plane crashed into the forests of Samaria in Jharkhand’s Chatra district.

The deceased have been identified as Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat (Pilot), Captain Sabrajdeep Singh (Co-Pilot), Sanjay Kumar (Patient), Archana Devi (Family Member), Dhooru Kumar (Family Member), Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta (Doctor), and Sachin Kumar Mishra (Paramedical Staff).

According to Anant Sinha, CEO of Devkamal Hospital in Ranchi, the air ambulance had been arranged by the family of 41-year-old Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Chandwa in Latehar district. The patient had been admitted on February 16 with 65 percent burn injuries and was undergoing treatment. The family decided to shift him to Delhi for better medical care.

The patient was moved from the hospital around 4:30 PM and later boarded the air ambulance. Unfortunately, all those accompanying him perished in the tragic crash.

Sabrajdeep Singh had been married for two years and is survived by his four-month-old son. He had left home just two days ago for duty. His last phone conversation was reportedly with his uncle, Ranjit Singh, informing him that he had been called for work. His mortal remains are expected to reach Amritsar on Wednesday morning.

The devastating Jharkhand air ambulance crash has left families shattered and raised serious concerns over aviation safety protocols.
