Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day state visit to Israel beginning February 25, 2026. The visit is being described as historic, with wide-ranging bilateral talks and key strategic agreements expected to be finalized.

According to India’s Ambassador to Israel, J. P. Singh, both nations stand united on the issue of terrorism and have consistently supported each other during times of crisis. He emphasized that the visit marks the next phase of strengthening the strategic partnership established during PM Modi’s 2017 visit.

High-Level Talks in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Modi will hold a private meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu. The discussions are expected to focus on innovation, science and technology, artificial intelligence, cyber security, quantum technology, and other emerging sectors.

Several agreements are likely to be signed following the bilateral talks.

Most official engagements are scheduled in Jerusalem.

First Indian PM to Address Knesset

On the first day, PM Modi will address the Knesset, becoming the first Indian leader to do so. He will also attend a community event and interact with members of the Indian diaspora in Israel. Additionally, he is scheduled to participate in a technology exhibition highlighting innovation collaboration between the two nations.

Visit to Yad Vashem and Presidential Meeting

On day two, the Prime Minister will visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial where more than six million Jews, including 1.5 million children, were killed during the Nazi regime. He will view the memorial records honoring the victims.

Thereafter, PM Modi will meet Isaac Herzog, the President of Israel, followed by extended talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The leaders are expected to finalize and exchange key agreements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation.

Following the conclusion of official engagements, Prime Minister Modi will depart for India from Tel Aviv.

Strengthening Strategic Partnership

India and Israel share strong cooperation in defense, agriculture, technology, and counter-terrorism. The 2026 visit is seen as a significant step toward elevating the partnership to a new strategic level, building upon the foundation laid during PM Modi’s landmark 2017 visit.
