A sudden security operation at Pathankot Cantt Railway Station created a buzz among passengers after police launched a special checking drive under “Operation CASO.”
Security teams intensified checks at all entry and exit points of the railway station. Every passenger entering or leaving the premises was thoroughly screened, and baggage was inspected to rule out any suspicious activity.
While some passengers appeared surprised by the sudden checking, many acknowledged the move as an important step towards strengthening security arrangements at the station.
Speaking to the media, DSP City Jagdish Attri stated that routine checking is carried out daily. However, considering the current situation, a special drive named “Operation CASO” was conducted to ensure heightened vigilance.
He emphasized that the objective of such operations is to maintain law and order in the city and prevent any untoward incidents. The DSP further clarified that security agencies remain on high alert and similar drives will continue in the coming days.
Police officials also appealed to the public not to panic and instead cooperate with security personnel during checking procedures.
