Phagwara: Punjabi singer Geeta Zaildar has apologised following a controversy at a well-known clothing store, Laddi Di Hatti, in Phagwara city. The incident, which reportedly took place on Saturday, led to a heated argument inside the shop. CCTV footage of the altercation has also surfaced.
According to the store owner Nishant, the dispute began over a kurta-chadra outfit worth ₹2,000. The singer had earlier purchased the clothing item and allegedly returned to the store claiming a defect in the product.
The shopkeeper alleged that the conversation regarding the return soon escalated into a tense argument. He further claimed that 11 to 12 individuals accompanying the singer misbehaved during the altercation.
Nishant alleged that Geeta Zaildar threatened to slap him and that a scuffle broke out inside the shop. He stated that female customers and staff members were present at the time of the incident, but the situation turned chaotic despite their presence.
The shop owner also accused the singer’s security personnel of pushing and creating panic inside the store. Considering the seriousness of the matter, local police were informed.
Following the controversy, Geeta Zaildar reportedly issued an apology to the shopkeeper. However, the incident has sparked discussions on social media after the CCTV footage was shared publicly.
