Punjab Budget on March 8, No New Taxes: CM Bhagwant Mann

Punjab Budget 8 March, No New Taxes Mann

Bhagwant Mann has announced that the Punjab Government will present its Budget in the Punjab Legislative Assembly on March 8. Speaking to reporters during his Gujarat visit, the Chief Minister clarified that the state government will not impose any new taxes nor increase existing tax rates in this year’s budget.

Mann is currently on a Gujarat tour along with Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of Aam Aadmi Party. During the visit, the party is organizing programs across various cities to discuss the National Budget and the Gujarat Budget.

Criticizing both budgets, Mann stated that the National Budget and the Gujarat Budget are similar in nature and fail to address the needs of common people, farmers, the poor, women, small traders, and shopkeepers. He alleged that the benefits primarily favor a few large corporate houses.

Reiterating his commitment, Mann assured that the Punjab Budget to be presented on March 8 will focus on public welfare without burdening citizens with additional taxes. The announcement is being seen as a significant move ahead of the upcoming budget session in Punjab.
