Six Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in Tamil Nadu for Pro-Pakistan Terror Content

Six Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in TN for Terror Content

The Q Branch of the Delhi Police, in coordination with the Tamil Nadu Police, arrested six Bangladeshi nationals from Tirupur district on Saturday for allegedly posting content supporting Pakistan-based terror outfits on social media and staying in India without valid documents.

According to police sources, the arrests were made following specific intelligence inputs indicating provocative online activity and suspected communication with extremist elements operating from across the border. Acting on the information, a special team of the Delhi Police Q Branch travelled to Tirupur and, with assistance from the local district police, carried out simultaneous raids at three different locations.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mijanur Rahman, Mohammad Shabat, Umar, Mohammad Litan, Mohammad Shahid, and Mohammad Ujjal. Officials said all six were taken into custody without any resistance.

During the search operations, police seized eight mobile phones and 16 SIM cards from the suspects. Preliminary investigations revealed that the devices were allegedly used to circulate content supporting banned terrorist organisations and to remain in contact with suspected handlers linked to extremist networks.

Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of their activities, funding sources, and possible links to larger terror modules. Security agencies are also examining the digital evidence to trace cross-border connections and prevent potential threats.
