Amit Shah to Attend CRPF Raising Day Parade, Lay Foundation Stone of 10th Assam Police Battalion in Guwahati

Amit Shah Attends CRPF Raising Day in Assam

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to attend the 87th CRPF Raising Day Parade of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Guwahati today. For the first time, the CRPF’s annual Raising Day Parade is being hosted in Assam and the Northeast region.

The event will be held at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Stadium, where the Union Minister will attend as the Chief Guest. Around 1,400 CRPF personnel across eight contingents will participate in the parade, demonstrating the force’s operational strength, modern equipment, and preparedness.

The CRPF, established in 1939, plays a crucial role in internal security, counter-insurgency operations, and maintaining law and order across the country. Hosting the Raising Day Parade in the Northeast highlights the region’s strategic importance in India’s security framework.

Later in the afternoon, Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for a new campus of the 10th Assam Police Battalion at Kachutoli, near Guwahati. The battalion is currently operating from Guwahati and will shift to the newly developed premises once construction is completed.

The new campus is expected to strengthen Assam’s policing infrastructure and enhance security preparedness in the region.
