Canadian Member of Parliament Amarjeet Singh Gill visited the holy Golden Temple in Amritsar along with his family, offering prayers and seeking blessings for the well-being of all.
Gill, who represents Brampton in Canada, expressed deep gratitude after paying obeisance at the sacred shrine. He said that visiting the holy place was a blessed opportunity and described the land as spiritually enriching, bringing immense peace and positivity.
During his visit, Gill also interacted with representatives of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and met its president Harjinder Singh Dhami. Discussions were held on various issues related to Sikh institutions and preserving traditions, especially in overseas communities.
Gill highlighted the growth and strength of the Sikh community abroad and expressed satisfaction in seeing Sikh culture flourish globally. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity of religious events such as Nagar Kirtans and ensuring discipline in Gurudwara activities overseas.
Addressing the youth, Gill encouraged them to work hard and follow the law while living abroad. He described Canada as a land of opportunities, urging young individuals to become responsible citizens and contribute positively to society while upholding their cultural identity.
Community leader Upkar Singh also expressed pride in seeing Sikh representation in foreign parliaments, stating that it reflects the global respect and recognition of the Sikh community.
