Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen engaging in key diplomatic interactions during the AI Impact Summit 2026, including a conversation with Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and a brief exchange with French President Emmanuel Macron.
During the summit, PM Modi held discussions with President Lula, reviewing the strategic partnership between India and Brazil. Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, Modi stated that close cooperation is essential to advance the shared interests of the Global South.
President Lula praised India’s leadership in artificial intelligence and lauded the organization of the AI Impact Summit, noting that it marked a significant moment as the event was hosted in the Global South for the first time. He highlighted how digital transformation is rapidly reaching societies worldwide.
Meanwhile, PM Modi also interacted with French President Emmanuel Macron, with visuals showing a friendly thumbs-up exchange between the two leaders. Macron appreciated India’s digital progress and innovation in AI during his visit from February 17 to 19.
The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation under the “Horizon 2047” roadmap, focusing on key areas such as technology, sustainable development, and inclusive growth. According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, over 20 agreements and initiatives were reviewed, further expanding the strategic ties between India and France.
The summit highlighted India’s growing global influence in technology and diplomacy, positioning the country as a key player in shaping the future of AI and international cooperation.
