In a major step towards strengthening civic infrastructure, Karamjit Singh Rintu, In-charge of Amritsar North Assembly constituency and Chairman of the Amritsar Improvement Trust, launched multiple development projects across various localities.
The projects include construction of streets, laying of new sewerage lines, and replacement of old drinking water pipelines to ensure modern civic amenities for residents.
Street and Sewer Works at Baba Deep Singh Avenue
The formal inauguration of street and sewer construction works was carried out at Baba Deep Singh Avenue. Once completed, residents will benefit from cleaner streets, improved drainage systems, and a healthier environment, leading to a better quality of life.
Clean Drinking Water Project in New Nehru Colony
In New Nehru Colony, where residents had long been facing issues of contaminated drinking water, the replacement of old and damaged pipelines has begun. The initiative aims to ensure a regular supply of clean and safe drinking water, providing permanent relief to locals.
Sewer Network Upgrade in Smile Enclave
At Smile Enclave, problems of sewer overflow and blockages had been troubling residents for years. Addressing these concerns, work has commenced to replace the old sewer lines with a modern sewer network across the colony.
Similarly, in Ward No. 17’s Greenland area, new sewer pipelines are being laid to connect household sewer outlets with the main drainage system, strengthening overall sanitation infrastructure.
Commitment to All-Round Development
Speaking on the occasion, Karamjit Singh Rintu stated that expanding basic amenities across every part of the constituency remains his top priority. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring cleanliness, improved public health, and better civic facilities for residents.
Senior Deputy Mayor Priyanka Sharma, Sarpanch Kulwinder Singh, Councillor Gulzar Bittu, Anek Singh, panchayat members, and a large number of local residents were present during the inauguration ceremonies.
