Bomb Threat Email to Mohali Schools, Fortis Hospital; Police Launch Probe

Panic gripped parts of Mohali after several schools received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday morning, prompting immediate evacuation and a large-scale police response.

According to reports, the threatening email was received around 8:30 am. The message claimed that schools in Mohali and Fortis Hospital Mohali would be targeted at 11 am. The hospital was specifically mentioned in the email, drawing heightened concern as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is currently admitted there.

Police teams and senior officials rushed to the affected locations soon after the alert. As a precautionary measure, schools were evacuated and students were sent home safely. In Phase 2, Gyan Jyoti School announced closure for the day while security personnel conducted thorough checks inside the premises.

Authorities stated that bomb disposal squads and security agencies are carrying out detailed inspections to ensure public safety. So far, no suspicious object has been reported.

The email reportedly warned of explosions at 11 am and carried the name “Khalistan National Army” at the bottom, along with references to several individuals. Police officials are verifying the authenticity of the claims and tracing the origin of the email.

Security has been tightened across Mohali, and investigations are underway to identify those responsible. Officials have urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies as the probe continues.
