The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is currently underway at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The five-day event marks the first-ever global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South, with participation from world leaders representing twenty nations.
Artificial Intelligence is emerging as a key driver of India’s development journey, strengthening governance frameworks and enhancing public service delivery. The summit has brought together global leaders, policymakers, technology companies, innovators, and domain experts to deliberate on the transformative potential of AI across governance, innovation, and sustainable development.
On the second day of the summit, high-level panel discussions are continuing, focusing on deepening sectoral dialogues across priority domains. The day’s agenda includes the launch of flagship Knowledge Compendiums, featuring casebooks on AI applications in health, energy, education, agriculture, gender empowerment, and disability inclusion. A focused Seminar on Applied AI is also being held to explore practical deployment strategies.
Recognising AI’s strategic importance, India has prioritised building a strong and inclusive ecosystem. Key initiatives such as the India AI Mission, expansion of AI compute infrastructure, promotion of indigenous AI models, and large-scale capacity-building programmes are laying the groundwork for responsible and trusted AI adoption across the country.
The summit is expected to further strengthen international collaboration and position India as a global leader in inclusive and ethical AI innovation.
