Reiterating the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and organised crime, Bhagwant Mann on Thursday directed senior police officers to step up enforcement efforts across Punjab.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, Mann emphasised that strict action must be taken to ensure that the rule of law prevails uniformly across the state without any exception. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary K A P Sinha and Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, along with other senior officials.
The Chief Minister underlined that the ongoing crackdown on drugs and gangster networks remains one of the state government’s top priorities. He stated that the campaign aims at the complete eradication of narcotics trade and organised criminal syndicates from their roots.
Mann further asserted that the time has come to deliver a decisive blow to drug cartels and gangster networks operating in the state. He urged police officers to adopt a proactive and result-oriented approach to ensure a safer and crime-free Punjab.
